Silambam Houston is recognized as a Houston Cultural Treasure and Houston's premiere Indian arts organization — promoting classical dance and music, building multicultural audiences, and passing traditions to the next generation.
I'm a Silambam alumnus; my journey spans over 17 years as a student, Company dancer, instructor, stage technician, administrative intern, and facility manager. As Director of Operations, I lead organizational workflows, oversee facility management, and support the Academy and Arts Apprenticeship programs — combining systems automation with a deep understanding of Silambam's values to strengthen the operational infrastructure behind the next generation of classical arts. Maintain and update silambamhouston.org — programs, events, registration, and the student portal that connect audiences to the Arts Academy and Company.
Lead Tech & Stage Manager
Run technical and stage logistics for performances — from student showcases and Abhyasa recitals to full company productions at venues like the Hobby Center and Miller Outdoor Theater.
Faculty Member
Teach within the Arts Academy, helping students build technique, artistry, and cultural literacy across Silambam's Indian classical dance and music programs.
Digital Treasure Box
Build and curate Silambam's Digital Treasure Hunt — interactive scavenger hunts through Mahabharata characters, mudras, and activity sheets that tie into Storytime With Silambam.
Akka's Alcove
Lead a student mentorship and hangout space where younger artists connect, ask questions, and find guidance from an older peer in the Silambam community.
